Best Trap Over/Under Shotguns of 2025
Dec 27, 2025
Each year, we wrap up the season by ranking the best shotguns we’ve reviewed, and this list represents the culmination of five years of hands-on testing, not just what we looked at in 2025.
In this video, we break down the Best Trap Over/Under Shotguns of 2025 into three clear categories:
- Best on a Budget
- Best Value
- Best Overall
Let’s jump in.
If you have experience with any of these shotguns, please share your thoughts in the TFL COMMUNITY!
BEST ON A BUDGET
If you’re working with a limited budget but still want a dedicated trap gun, your options are fairly narrow — but there are a couple that stand out.
🏆 Winner: CZ All-American Single — $1,299

The CZ All-American Single is the most affordable dedicated trap gun on this list. At this price point, there simply aren’t many true trap-specific options available.
We were able to shoot it reasonably well, but one thing that stood out was that the recoil felt a bit heavier than expected — especially considering this is a heavier gun overall. That said, if budget is the main driver and you want a purpose-built trap gun, the CZ All-American is one of the few viable choices.
🥈 Runner-Up: SKB Century III — $1,769
For shooters willing to spend a bit more, the SKB Century III is a strong step up. At roughly $500 more than the CZ, it offers better shootability and adjustability.
This is a shotgun that my son and I have used across multiple trap seasons. It’s reliable, shoots extremely well, and offers solid adjustability. If you’re considering moving beyond the absolute entry level, the Century III is well worth a look.
BEST VALUE
The “Best Value” category is all about price-to-performance, and in trap shooting, value often means choosing a gun that can grow with you as your skill level increases.
🏆 Winner: Browning BT-99 — $1,679

The Browning BT-99 is a classic for a reason. I personally shot this gun for an entire trap season and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s simple, proven, and incredibly effective.
At its base price, the BT-99 is very affordable for a dedicated trap gun. However, it’s important to understand that once you start adding adjustability and higher trim levels, the price can climb quickly. The BT-99 offers a wide range of configurations to suit your needs and budget.
🥈 Runner-Up: SKB 90TSS — $2,099
If you’re set on a double-barrel shotgun but still want to stay in a reasonable price range, the SKB 90TSS stands out.
SKB has a reputation for building no-frills shotguns that deliver solid quality at attainable prices. Starting at $2,099, the 90TSS offers a dependable and enjoyable shooting experience without pushing into premium territory.
BEST OVERALL
Once you move into higher price points, the list becomes more interesting—and more versatile. While we haven’t reviewed many of the elite-level trap guns yet, out of the dedicated trap guns we have reviewed, this is what stands out as the Best Overall.
🏆 Winner: Fabarm Elos N2 Allsport Type T Combo — $5,675

The Fabarm Elos N2 Allsport Type T Combo earns our top spot for Best Overall Trap Over/Under Shotgun of 2025.
We really enjoyed reviewing this shotgun. For a combo set, it comes in at a price point that’s still relatively reasonable in the trap world. The build quality, balance, and overall shooting experience make it a standout among the trap guns we’ve reviewed so far.
As we continue reviewing more mid-tier and elite-level trap guns in the future, this category will likely expand — but based on what we’ve tested to date, the Fabarm Elos N2 sits firmly at the top.
🥈 Runner-Up: Cynergy Classic Trap Unsingle Combo with Adjustable Comb — $4,359.99–$5,079.99
The Browning Cynergy Classic Trap Combo offers excellent versatility, providing both an unsingle barrel and a double barrel in one package.
It includes an adjustable comb and a laminate stock, which is solid and durable — though we fully understand that laminate isn’t for everyone aesthetically. Still, for shooters who want flexibility across trap disciplines, this combo checks a lot of boxes.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Trap shooting is a discipline where dedicated equipment matters, and this list reflects the best options we’ve personally reviewed over the past several years.
If you’re on a tight budget, the CZ All-American Single and SKB Century III are realistic entry points. For shooters looking for the best balance of price and performance, the Browning BT-99 remains a proven favorite. And if you’re ready to invest in a high-quality combo, the Fabarm Elos N2 Allsport Type T stands out as the best overall trap shotgun we’ve tested so far.
