South Georgia Quail Hunt at Southwind (Quitman, GA)

Almost every year I end up making a trip down to the Florida Georgia line to get out of the Minnesota cold, get some shooting in, and get ready for the upcoming exhibition show season.
Over the years of visiting the Thomasville, GA area I have had the opportunity to make many new friends. A few years back I spent some time with fine folks at Southwind Sporting Clays and Quail Hunting in Quitman, GA. This spring, my brother and I stopped by for a visit, and the next thing you know, we were going quail hunting!
There is something special about walking the tall Georgia pines and watching the dogs work to find the birds. Quail hunting is also a great time to connect with old and new friends over a shared experience in the outdoors. I love to pull the trigger on my shotgun, but sometimes, it's just a nice bonus to the experience.
This video is a quick look into my recent experience as I hunt with a group of guys that I met just the night before over a bonfire at Southwind.
