Underrated? Fabarm Elos N2 RS Sporting Shotgun Review

Ergonomics
The Fabarm Elos N2 RS Sporting feels great in the hands. The grip, the palm swell, and the reach to the trigger all worked well for me right out of the gate. I also appreciated the adjustable trigger, which let me fine-tune the length just right. While the fore-end doesn't have a lot of contour, it still felt solid and comfortable throughout a round.
One standout feature is Fabarm’s Micrometric 3D adjustable comb system. It’s intuitive, simple to adjust, and made it easy to get the fit dialed in—something I really value in a sporting clays gun. I was able to raise the comb, add a little cast, and center my eye over the rib quickly.
The black finish on the comb might look like rubber or plastic, but it’s actually walnut that is painted—a nice touch. Paired with the clean checkering and a sporty receiver design with subtle blue accents, the gun feels like it punches above its price point in both looks and function.
Recoil and Reliability
Recoil management is solid—especially after fine-tuning the fit. When mounted firm and snug into the shoulder, the Elos RS took the edge off 1⅛ oz loads without feeling punchy. That said, I did experience a touch of recoil in the face before making adjustments. Once dialed in, the gun handled smoothly and delivered consistent performance.
The gun’s still a little stiff after ~300 rounds, but that’s not a knock—it’s built tight, and it’s loosening up nicely.
Want even less recoil? We love the FalconStrike recoil reduction systems.
Breakdown/Quality of Build
The Fabarm Elos N2 RS Sporting is built tight—really tight. Even after a few hundred rounds, this gun still feels stiff, which is a good indicator of solid machining and close tolerances. Everything locks up with authority. When you close it, there’s that satisfying click that tells you it’s put together right.
The internals are clean and well-finished. It uses a locking bolt that runs across the bottom and mates into a sturdy block, reinforced by four recoil lugs that help absorb energy and give it a solid, stable shooting platform. Ejectors are strong, positive, and consistent.
The matte black barrels and sporty receiver engraving add a modern, professional look without trying too hard. And while the lever lacks added texture, the contour makes it easy to operate. Overall, this shotgun feels like it will hold up to serious use while still looking sharp on the rack.
Shooting Experience
On the course, the Fabarm Elos N2 RS Sporting had a swing that felt a bit quicker than I typically prefer. While its slightly forward balance should make for a smoother swing, this shotgun still moves fast and feels very responsive—something many shooters will love if they prefer a gun that’s quick to get on target.
Once I had the adjustable comb dialed in, the mount felt natural and repeatable. The light, crisp triggers made breaking targets easy, and the gun performed well across a variety of presentations, including a 40-yard shot that broke cleanly. Recoil was manageable overall, though I initially felt a bit of face pop until I fine-tuned the fit. After that, it shot comfortably and with confidence.
If you like a lively, fast-moving gun on the sporting clays course, this one will feel right at home.
Summary
The Fabarm Elos N2 RS Sporting brings a lot to the table for shooters looking for a reliable, adjustable, and well-built sporting clays gun. I really liked the crisp trigger, the fit and adjustability of the comb, and the overall feel in the hands. Once I had it dialed in, it performed well and shot consistently.
That said, the swing was a bit quicker than I typically prefer, and I did notice some recoil in the face until I got the fit adjusted. It’s still a little stiff, but that’s expected with a newer over/under.
All in all, it’s a solid option that offers a ton of value—especially for shooters who like a fast, responsive gun and don’t want to jump into the high-end price tier.
